Tom B. lost a tooth! Wonder if he pulled it himself? He's had a lot of practice this year!

Easter
Today, Mrs. Way came to our group and shared a Easter story with us. This is our Easter tradition that the kindergarten class participates in. The book is called " The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes" . It is a special book that her mother gave her. We also got to look at her bunny collection that goes with the story and look into the special egg. Thank you, Mrs. Way for reading your special book to us today.

At Home Projects, the end
Ava shared her recipe for peanut butter kisses. They were a yummy treat!
Ethan made a volcano using an acid and base. What an explosion of "lava" we had.
Quinton made and decorated a chocolate chip cake. Yummy! We especially like how is was decorated blue for the boys and pink for the girls.
Sadie made an art gallery. We had to take 2 pictures so you could see all of her work. What an artist she is!
It has been so fun to watch the class share their projects and see their excitement.
We have had a great week- just in time for Spring Break. Then, we start the "countdown" to graduation-can you believe it's already this close? Seems like yesterday that we were having our first day of kindergarten.

At-Home Projects, Day 1
Abigail did her project on "Baking a Rainbow Cake". The kids were in awe when we cut the cake and saw that the inside was indeed a rainbow! Great job, Abigail!
Tom B. helped us learn more about St. Patrick's Day and the country of Ireland. We also learned about leprechauns and enjoyed a special "shamrock snack" (cupcakes decorated for St. Patrick's Day) We loved it, Tom B!
Natalie made a memory stone. We were excited to learn how to make one. She also made a photo album with pictures to show us how she made each step. And, we loved how colorful it ended up! Thanks for sharing your awesome artwork with us, Natalie!
We enjoyed listening to everyone's projects. They each did a wonderul job speaking to the group and explaining each step. Thank you Abigail, Tom B and Natalie!

Birds of a Feather
The Boy Artists
The Girl Artists
Works in progress!!
We designed our own paper by first painting our papers with one color. Then we used paper forks and dragged it through the paint before it dried. Then, we cut out birds, branches, etc to make our "textured" paintings. Last, we added feathers to make the pictures stand out even more. Can you believe we worked on all of this today and got them finished?

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!!! We enjoyed reading many of his books this week. We loved "One Fish, Two Fish" and used it to design our fish.
We drew it first with pencils and learned how to space our fish on the page, then we traced our drawings with black oil pastels. We used red, yellow and blue paint to paint the fish. After it dried, we traced it again with the oil pastels, cut it out and glued it onto striped paper (we used markers to make stripes in our favorite colors).
This was a several day project and we loved being artists this week!

Spring Reading
Every Spring, Mrs. Way reads The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane to the kindergarten class. It is a story that makes you think, laugh, and feel many emotions. I love watching the children's faces as they hear certain parts. I think it has 20 chapters so we will be enjoying the reading for a few weeks.
