Open House

Thank you to everyone who came to open house at the Montessori School! We always enjoy visiting with parents and presenting the lessons your child has worked so hard on.

September Artist

Each month for the remainder of the school year we learn about a different artist, look at their lives, their artwork and create some of our own art inspired by that particular artist. 

For the month of September we have started to learn about Wassily Kandinsky. Born in Russia he was one of the first recognized abstract artists who loved using bright colors. Using Kandinsky's painting, Squares with Concentric Circles (as seen here) we created our own "Kandisnky circles" which will be completed and on display during open house in October. September Artist: Kandinsky

Every month the kindergarteners will learn about a different artist. This month we are learning about Wassily Kandinsky, a Russian abstract artist. You will see a few samplings of our own versions of Kandinsky's work during open house later this month.  

We created 3d Kandinsky circles using plastic cups. We colored stripes around the cups with sharpies and melted our cups in the oven. You will get the opportunity to see our finished works during open house.
