Here are pictures from the Author Party Night. (I will have to do several posts in order to get all of the pictures on here). I am so proud of their books. They were all very creative and unique-just like the authors themselves:)

Parts of a Plant

This is our flower above the ground.

And here are the roots that grow under the ground.

This was a fun project to show how the roots of flowers/plants are "hidden" under the ground. We also read "Tops and Bottoms" and talked about what vegetables grow under, on top and in the "middle" of the ground. Great book for showing how vegetables grow and how being a hard worker really pays off!

Last, we added water and put them in our windowsill to get plenty of sunlight. Wonder which one will grow the quickest?

We planted: lettuce, parsley, forget me nots, wildflower mix, African Daisys, petunia, annual cut flowers, sunflower, and moss rose.

Then we added our seeds to our pots.

We had so much fun riding scooters, playing with outside toys and having special snacks. Thank you parents for helping make our afternoon wonderful!

This is a sneak peek at our books we've written. This is Jayden and Ava working on theirs. All of the class have written their rough drafts and are now working on copying them into the "real" books and illustrating them. I can't wait for you to be able to read them at the author party. They are wonderful and very creative.
