We spent this week talking about our Five Senses. Some of our activities included a traditional Montessori Silence game, guessed items in sensory bags, smelling bottles and making over sized tongues, with taste buds. We had a lot of fun this week. Here we are with our tongues:

International Peace Day 2017
Today we celebrated International Peace Day. We read "Our Peaceful Classroom" by Aline D. Wolf. This is a special book because it is illustrated by Montessori children from all over the world of various ages. We also made peaceful pinwheels and planted them around our peace pole in the side yard. The big house prek joined in with us also!

September Artist: Kandinsky
Every month the kindergarteners will learn about a different artist. This month we are learning about Wassily Kandinsky, a Russian abstract artist. You will see a few samplings of our own versions of Kandinsky's work during open house later this month.
We created 3d Kandinsky circles using plastic cups. We colored stripes around the cups with sharpies and melted our cups in the oven. You will get the opportunity to see our finished works during open house.
