The Button Box

Recently, our class read a book called The Button Box by Margarette Reid. It is a wonderful story about a child who loves to play with his grandmother's button collection. He sorts them using several different ways. We used our school's button collection and sorted buttons. Some chose to sort by colors, some by the # of button holes and if they were shank buttons. (I did have other pictures but "someone" played in my purse at the ASU game Saturday and accidentally deleted some pictures!) Sorry:)

Global Safari Animals at International Studies

A baby porcupine
An Artic Fox
Can't remember this one:) But soooo cute!
Cameron feeding the tortoise a banana
Sophia helping hold a python
A lizard that looks like a snake!
Today, we were invited to watch a presentation on safari animals at International Studies. We loved the animals and learned so many things. Sophia and Cameron were picked to be helpers. Sophia got to get an up close view of a python and help "hold" him. Cameron got to help feed a tortoise. Very exciting afternoon! Thank you to the parent who helped us drive over-we were thankful to not walk in the rain today!

Spanish

We are so excited to have Mrs. Pagan teaching us Spanish again this year. We are starting with a review of counting and will be working on colors, families, and animals this year. We look forward to Spanish every Tuesday at 9.

Birthday Bingo

After our birthday celebrations, we will be playing Birthday Bingo! It is a fun game that uses clues about birthday parties and pictures. We will only play it when we have a birthday in our group. We celebrated Ella J's birthday so we got to play it on the second day of school. Happy Birthday, Ella J!
