Apples!!!

We have learned all about apples this week! We looked, touched & tasted them. Then, we tasted an apple pie! Yummy snack!

We made several apple pictures to go with this poem: Eat an apple, save the core....
Plant the seeds & grow some more!

Sticks & Stones

We have a new math lesson....sticks & stones. 2 children play the game by choosing sticks, counting out stones based on what number is on the stick. At the end, each child counts their total number. Whoever has the most wins. Then they shake hands or hi-five each other & say good game!  So far, no tears:))

Artist of the month: Kandinsky

This month, our group is responsible for the front porch bulletin board art. We learned about Kandinsky last week & made our own trees. We first painted our trunks & branches. Then the next day, we traced circles, cut them out & glued them on our trees. Keep an eye on the bulletin board for our art to he displayed next week!

Playground fun

We are enjoying this cooler weather! Football, chase, selling ice cream & "building a tanning bed" were on our play agenda today!

Spanish

Mrs Anchondo (one of the Byrd house teachers) will be teaching us spanish this year. We had a blast reviewing colors & learning the parts of the body.

Graphing with fruit loops

We used fruit loops (our snack one day) & made a math graph. Yummy!

Landforms

We started our month learning about land & water. Then we looked at different landforms like lake, island, gulf, peninsula....then we made our own with graham crackers & blue icing. Best part of all: we got to eat our landforms!!!

Challenging lessons

We are off to a great start!! Caught some kiddos working so well on their lessons!

Happy Birthday Taylor!!!
